Rainwater + Septic
Ventilation
Solar
A rainwater harvesting system allows for the
site to lower the current carbon footprint by
reusing runoff water from the northern roof.
This system could tie into a septic system.
Alignments of openings create a pass through
for wind to naturally cool the space while also
expelling heat through vents in the clerestory.
The southern roof not only terminates at
a clerestory, but it is also pitched at a 20
degree angle for the most exposure to
sunlight if solar panels are considered.
Private Use
Small groups can gather in the interior classroom when weather does not permit outside
activities.
Extended Use
The eastern facade seamlessly extends the
main space towards the pond with a single,
uninterupted barn door.
Separated Use
The southern barn doors have the opportunity to form many different configurations
implying a separation of spaces to fit with the
needs of the activity.
