Enclosing
Nature’ᥓ Core is a
speculative single
family home placed
within the East
Buntyn Neighborhood.
The home is one
that isolates the
elements of land and
see separately with
their own pockets
that partially
engages the home
either through a
small garden or a
reflection pool.
These spaces are
further enhanced
by the areas that
they immediately
encounter such as
a roof garden that
overlooks the pocket
garden below or
a waterfall that
directly engages
with the reflection
pool in times of
inclement weather.
While these two
elements have their
own respective
divisions, the
element of light
becomes the binding
element that holds
these two divisions
together. This can
be seen through
the inclusion of a
light well in the
form of an exterior
courtyard that is
fully engaged with
the interior of the
space. Light then
floods through all
these spaces with
the large picture
windows that allow
for the light to
pass through and
allow for views from
one element into
another.
