Paper Folding
The paper folding
project was a
process-based
assignment that
spanned across the
entirety of the
spring semester
in two different
halves. The initial
prompt was to learn
about the different
ways of folding and
manipulating paper
which culminated
into a compositional
installation.
As the project
developed, a further
exploration of
these folds were
conducted through
gesture drawings
that contained
the feelings and
emotions of a paperfolded model. After
multiple gestures
were derived from
the form, the
assignment evolved
into the creation of
sectional and light
studies to end the
first half of the
project. The second
half of the project
synthesized the
sectional studies
and initiated the
full design of one,
cohesive building.
Pallet set
design
The Pallet
project tasked
students within
the sustainability
course to create a
set with reclaimed
palettes for a
fashion show held
by the college
of communication
and fine arts at
the university of
Memphis. The pallets
were dematerialized
through the use
of white paint to
unify the set while
splashing green and
blue, the selected
colors of the event.
The set design was
tethered together
through hinges that
stabilized the
entire system.
